The Search for Seryth, Chapters 18-22

Chapter 18: Ezran started his search in the Barrow Dens of the Druids of the Claw. The first one came up empty. The second one had clearly been ransacked. Ezran suspected he knew by who.

Ezran helped a Sentinel up out of the wreckage, staunching her wounds. “What happened here? Where have the druids gone?”

“Demons,” said the Sentinel. “It wasn’t some random raid, either. They were acting under someone’s orders, to target us specifically. I heard them speaking…”

“Rest a bit, and return to Lorlathil as soon as you can,” said Ezran. Was Seryth somehow on to his plans? He wondered. Continue reading “The Search for Seryth, Chapters 18-22”

The Search for Seryth, Chapters 14-17

Chapter 14: He came across a camp of rebels before he came across the farms supposedly entertaining warlocks. They hid in the hills above the farmsteads, and Ezran learned they had been raiding their old home frequently throughout the months since Seryth had turned their simple lifestyle on its head.

The rebels were headed by several men who had been distrusting of Seryth from the beginning, though violence hadn’t erupted until proof of demonic experiments had been stumbled upon in a cave outside of the town, in the form of several sick transient children who had been sheltering there.

The once-farmers told Ezran the story, how they had gathered at the town center to make their voices heard about the tragedy. The gathering had begun to turn restless as noon turned to dusk turned to night without any of the town’s leaders coming to speak to them, when suddenly the mayor opened his doors. Unwitting, many of the townsfolk had filed in, thinking they would finally get the chance to speak, but instead, they were ambushed in the halls by demons. The Search for Seryth, Chapters 7 – 9

Chapter 7: "You should get out of Westfall while you can," Saldean was saying. In response to Ezran saving his son, the family had invited him to dinner. The far was poor -- scraped together by whatever bits of food hadn't been taken by the lord's thugs -- but Ezran paid his compliments to the cook, Saldean's wife Salma, regardless.

“I can’t just turn a blind eye to this and leave,” said Ezran. “I fought in the wars. I could help you with this warlock lord and his thugs.”

“You are but one man,” said Saldean. Continue reading “The Search for Seryth, Chapters 7 – 9”

The Search for Seryth, Chapters 4 – 6

Chapter 4: A small group of farmers were gathered at the Furlbrow farm when Ezran rode up. One was even in a Stormwind uniform: it seemed the death of the Furlbrows had reached the ears of the kingdom authorities. Whatever had happened must've been serious.

Ezran double-checked his disguise before joining the gathering. He could see the Stormwind official was getting impatient, and no wonder, the farmers were telling stories of everything from a demon to a murloc as having been responsible for the Furlbrows’ death. Thinking of the faint scent of fel he had caught in Sentinel’s Hill, Ezran wondered at the former.

As the hypotheses of the farmers grew more and more wild, Ezran stepped in. Continue reading “The Search for Seryth, Chapters 4 – 6”

The Search for Seryth, Chapters 1 – 3

I’ll keep the introduction here short. I’ve started up another Living Story Roleplay character, whose story closely dovetails with Seryth’s in The Story of Seryth. Continue reading “The Search for Seryth, Chapters 1 – 3”
